Manage Inventory in Magento 2 Some experts said that Magento 2 is the leading of all platforms. If in the ex-version, Magento 1.x, this feature is so simple and can make the users satisfy , in the latest version, Magento 2, you can find that manage inventory become wonderful than ever.
Now, let’s determine all detail in Magento 2 inventory management! Each product in your catalog has short term and long term version of the Advanced Inventory options. Based on your demand, you can set it in short or long term. In case you set “Yes”, it means that you choose a long term version. The first values reflect the default production Stock Options set in configuration. Below is the way to set it:
Option 1: Manage inventory without Stock Management It means that inventory control is not used to manage the product in your catalog. Open the product edit mode Choose Advance Inventory Set “No” for Manage Stock. (You can clear the use config setting checkbox to make the field available if it is necessary) Enter the Minimum Qty Allowed in Shopping Cart and Maximum Qty Allowed in Shopping Cart Set Enable Qty Increment field (it is the number of product must be purchased at the same time). In case you want to sell by Quantity increment, follow steps below: In Enable Qty Increment: set “Yes” In the Qty Increments field: enter the number of products that must be purchased in an incremental step Tap Save
Option 2: Manage inventory with Stock Management Contrast to option 1, this option means inventory management control is used to manage the product in your catalog. Open the product edit mode Choose Advance Inventory Set “Yes” for Manage Stock. You can clear the use config setting checkbox to make the field available if it is necessary. Follow step below to configure it: Enter the Qty current in your stock Enter the Qty for item’s status to become out of stock Enter the Minimum Qty Allowed in Shopping Cart Enter Maximum Qty Allowed in Shopping Cart If the quantity is the decimal value, follow: Set “Yes” for Decimal Value Select “Yes” if the quantity purchased Can be Divided into multiple Boxes for Shipping Set Backholders: No backholders: not accept backholders when product is out of stock Allow Qty Below 0: accept backholders when the quantity falls under 0 Allow Qty Below 0 and Notify Customer: accept backholders when the quantity falls under. However, it notifies customer that orders still can be placed In the Notify for Quantity Below field, enter the stock level that triggers a Quantity Below notification Do the same as option 1 to sell the product in quantity increment Set “In Stock” for Stock Availability if the product is currently in stock Tap Save That’s all configurations to managing inventory in Magento 2.
